The Rotorua Open will be held on the 20th November, this date differs from what has been advertised. This will be your last chance to shoot a Nth/Sth qualifying score and the last optional qualifying round for the Oceania teams. So if you haven’t shot a good enough score yet, you had better make some plans to get to Rotorua next month.
GOOD TRY, you Northern pretenders!!! The South Island Sporting Champs is being held on Sunday November 27th. at Greymouth, and THIS is the absolute last chance for a qualifying shoot. Put it this way, if you much up at Rotorua then head to the surpurb West Coast, great targets, whitebait fritters, sunshine etc.etc.
Your absolutely right Ron, you can still shoot a Nth/Sth score at Greymouth. Rotorua is the last of the optional championships for the Oceania teams and Greymouth is the first Island Championship. You can find more info on the 2012 Oceania team qualifying requirements, on the NZ Teams page.
Is it now only going to be a 100 sporting on the sunday?
Nothing on Saturday now??????
It’s a long way to travel for 100 targets only…. the white bait sounds better!
I think it was always just 100 sporting, but I have it confirmed just now, nothing on Saturday
Rotorua Open Championship.
100 sporting on Sunday 20th November.
I’ve never been that good at Whitebaiting, but a days shooting would have to win!
Come to the coast for 2 days of supurb Sporting, trophy day on Saturday, 100 targets, and the best of targets on Sunday. 4 ‘old style’ fields for both days, and I’ve even booked out a restaurent for Saturday nite. And she has whitebait!! it’s not a big drive from Nelson either.
Some of us “Northern Pretenders” are coming down there this weekend to take all your prizes Ron! It’s a real quick in/out raid as we get in to ChCh 8:30am Sat and are outa there 7pm Sun – Back in Ak for the kick off I might add – Go the AB’s
Were also going to be raiding your whitebait stocks in Nov as well, a real good northern raiding party has been assembled!!

What!! Are you coming to the Compak? It’s nothing to do with me,as they don’t want any help or input. I am going Friday arvo to help and be a dogs body though. It will be a good ‘club’ shoot if you know what I mean!! Whatever it will be good to see some Northern’s down, and may wake the club up a bit that there’s more than just locals and beginners to cater for.
Yup, Myself, Digger, Ian Holmes and Dale Clark are heading down. We wanted a change of senery seeing as Taupo will be somewhat limited now they have lost so much ground.
Also, $69 airfares helped!
See you Sat
