Keith O’Riley memorial – Labour Weekend – 200 Compak – Hutt Valley Gun Club

Sporting at the Hutt Valley Gun Club was pioneered by the late Keith O’Riley. Keith was a talented man who could turn his hand to most things. His chosen career was as a plasterer where he specialised in the intricate work involved in Carrara ceilings and ornate plaster work of all kinds.

Out at the Club he cut tracks, built stands and signs, organised medals and set Sporting ontrack to where it is today. He was involved in setting up our exciting new sporting layout and the day before he suddenly passed away he was involved in yet another Sporting working bee at the Club.

It was with great pride and pleasure that the Hutt Valley Gun Club inaugurated a Compak Sporting trophy shoot in honour of Keith, which will be contested for by teams on an open invitation basis. The next one is on this labour weekend at Hutt Valley.
